Carnival of Feminists No 71

Drumroll please…. the Carnival of Feminists No 71 is now up on Hop To It!. And a superfine collection of posts it is too; I was particularly taken by the piece about a mother telling a boy to not assume that because he couldn’t lift something, his sister also couldn’t.

But Hops also gets a special extra cheer for an innovation – a list of feminists who you should follow on Twitter. I confess that I haven’t entirely worked out myself what Twitter’s for, for me, although you will find me there, and I’ve now expanded my “Twitter-roll”. (Okay, that’s obviously not the right word – can any cognoscenti tell me what is?)

And somehow it seems to fit here; I’ve just found that Marie Antoinette has a blog – and very classy (in a positive sense) it is too.

Carnival of Feminists No 70

Drumroll please ….. the Carnival of Feminists No 70 is now up on Sheffield Fems, and a superb collection of posts it is too (and I’m not just saying that because I’ve been to a couple of great feminist conferences in Sheffield.)

There’s an excellent video post – we probably should see more of those (I’m personally a word person myself, but a neat little YouTube video does seem to be a great way to make a splash these days.)

But don’t waste time over here – do go over there and check it out!

And when you’ve done that, you might also find the Four Stone Heath carnival (anthropology) of interest.

Updating on the Carnival of Feminists

First and most importantly, my apologies for entirely failing to link to the very fine Carnival No 69, which went up before Christmas – when I was buried under a deluge of work. Must have been the medicinal brandy that made me forget it after that though.

Probably someone else has already pointed you that way, but if not, do go now!

And that segues neatly into Carnival No 70, which will be on Sheffield Fems on Wednesday – so now’s the time to get nominating.

I’m looking for future hosts – do drop me a line to natalieben AT gmail DOT com if you’re interested – don’t be shy, or I’ll probably come calling on you anyway….

Blogging/IT Carnival of Feminists

Drumroll please…

… the Carnival of Feminists No 68 is now up on Fourth Wave. And a superb collection from the feminist blogosphere it is too – if, hopefully, the last for a while to feature Sarah Palin.

This is, if memory serves me right, the first to feature Olympe de Gouge, wonders why some men only want to eat food cooked by women, and the post on “my neighbour’s sex life” explores some very interesting issues. (And really, I’m not just following the old journalist’s line of always getting sex in the headline.

And I’m looking for hosts for future carnivals – if you’re interested – and don’t be shy, you can be a new blogger, a long-time blogger, or anywhere inbetween – drop me a line: natalieben AT gmail DOT com.

While I’m here I’ll also mention that there’s a fine Britblog Roundup this week, just up the road from me in Islington, with Susanne.

And finally I say eon: here’s why.

Carnival of Feminists No 67

Drumroll please. Break out the trumpets… the Carnival of Feminist No 67 is now up on Jump Off the Bridge.

In the final roundup before the US election, there’s much to ponder on the Palin phenomenon, but it ranges much wider than that, with a strong focus on science and “math” (or maths as I’d say), and an unusual collection of isms…

But don’t waste time over here – do go over there and check it out!

(And after you’ve done that, you might also want to check out the Military History Carnival – about much more than tin soldiers, I promise – and the recent Britblog Roundup on Redemption Blues, done in the Chameleon’s inimitable style.)

Carnival of Feminists

Carnival of Feminists No 66

A very speedy drumroll here, since I’m about to be thrown out of my hotel room and hence off wifi – the Carnival of Feminists No 66 is now on Apu’s World. And it is as spectacular as ever – so don’t waste time here, do go over there and check it out.

The next one will be on Jump off the Bridge on October 22. Do get nominating!
