My favourite Paris cafe

Yes, okay, a bit personal, and you don’t have to hold the front page, but I have officially changed my “favourite Paris cafe” – it’s now Le Nemours on the Place Colette, and I’ve written about it on My Paris.

You’re welcome to tell me what it should be instead…

No. Cafes have to be good where you find them. Restaurants you can be more choosy about but depend so much on money and mood. Are you posh or peasant? Try Divellec for fish. I went to my simple hotel nearby and the receptionist said, “Ah, Divellec. Il e\st le maitre du poisson”. Rue de l’un iversitaire, near les Invalides.

Thanks Ronnie – will have to try it next time I’m in Paris – although I do find it hard to go past the oysters when it comes to seafood.

As you say there is so much choice, but Sunday breakfast cannot be beaten at a place on rue des Deux Ponts, Ille St Louis. Sorry – I forgot the name, although I lived around the corner from it for 5 months.
