But that number is now just 18.3% of the total. In only 39 legislatures (not, of course, including Westminster) have women reach 30% of the total.<\/p>\n<p>* The global gender pay gap has been recalculated, and is worse than previously thought &#8211; <a href = \"http:\/\/www.ituc-csi.org\/spip.php?article2799\">latest calculation<\/a>: 22%. (And the gap is actually higher for women with higher levels of education.)<\/p>\n<p>* The <a href = \"http:\/\/www.un.org\/apps\/news\/story.asp?NewsID=30103&#038;Cr=ILO&#038;Cr1=financial+crisis\">global unemployment rate for women<\/a> is predicted to be 7.4% in 2009, compared to men&#8217;s 7%.
