Bonobos – the cuddly variant of gorillas correction, chimpanzees – have been used in many arguments about human evolution (very often very dodgily). But it would seem that the arguments are based on premises that are themselves on shaky ground.
Still, no one’s arguing that they don’t get lots of sex, so they are still likely to get plenty of human attention, if not the attention needed to save their habitat.
